this post is just an excuse to show off some of the stuff i've made with sentence mixing. it's some of my favorite stuff i've ever made, sentence mixing is just so fun. so far, partially by coincidence, all of the sentence mixing i've done has been of twenty one pilots songs, so right now i'm calling the whole series "the adventures of tyler "twentyonepilot" joseph".
i'll also share a few tips for sentence mixing at the very end :)
tyler joseph gameboy commercial
this is the first time i've ever done sentence mixing, and i'm still proud of how well it holds up. it mixes the song "lane boy", changing "they say stay in your lane boy" to "they say play on your game boy".

this is by far my favorite one. it's the chorus of "navigating", but changed to "masturbating". genuinely i'm so proud of this one. it sounds pretty damn seamless, at least compared to other sentence mixing i've seen.

this is my take on main theme penis, one of my favorites memes to happen this year. the vocals are taken from "drum show". i haven't yet made a video for this one.
some tips if you wanna try sentence mixing yourself
listen to how the words are actually spoken aloud: a lot of "different" vowels actually kinda sound the same. get creative with where you're taking the vowel noises from.
"m" and "n" also often sound the same, so you can often get away with just, not changing them. did you notice that in the gameboy commercial he actually says "gane boy"? almost certainly not.
be lazy: if you're doing what i'm doing and changing the lyrics of a song, reuse as much as possible. for example, when i changed "disassociate" to "i don't procreate", i kept "ociate" at the end, and just chopped out the "c" so it became "o-iate". then i just needed "pr" and "cr" consonants to create the word "procreate". but the vowels are entirely from "disassociate", with no actual mixing required. i'm pretty sure i also reused the "o" for the word "don't".
similarly, in drum show, i took the lyric "complete a", cut off the "com", and turned "plet-a" into "penis". the vowels sound the same; i only needed to add in some consonants.
use on-screen subtitles: if the audio isn't perfect, but it sounds close enough, use subtitles to prime the viewer to hear the audio a certain way. it's kinda insane how well this works.
use a fuckton of crossfades to avoid popping/clicking noises.
no, really, be lazy: at the very end of the gameboy commercial, in "where we play where we want to", the first word in the original song is "but", and i just straight up didn't swap it out at all. it's so unenunciated and quiet that you kinda just only hear "uh", and when combined with the subtitles saying "where", there's no reason for me to tweak the audio at all; your brain does literally all of the work. which is kinda cool as hell actually
